Mini Bloggiesta! July 19-20 - Goals

Due to several recent annoyances with Blogger (like things suddenly not working when they worked just fine before), I have chosen to make a move to Wordpress. This will be a slowish move, since I'm confident of what I'm doing before I do it. So although there are lots of ways this blog could improve, I'm going to focus on only a few small issues this weekend:

  • Set up a bloglovin' account
  • Catch up on writing book reviews and create a schedule for their publication
  • Prepare for my upcoming Suicide / Mental Illness theme read coming up in September and October. (Woops. Was that a plug? I really do need to make the button and plan!)
  • Make better use of StumbleUpon
  • Create Challenge/Tour tab
Hope everyone's blog development plans go well this weekend!

  1. Great bloggiesta to do list. Another avenue to promote your theme read is at Novel Challenge. A blog for reading challenges and events. http://novelchallenges.blogspot.com/
    Good luck!

    1. Thanks Alysia! I've just sent my link to Novel Challenges. It's great that we have such resources to find participants! :)

  2. I really need to do more with StumbleUpon for my blog. I don't really know how to go about it though that's for sure! Good luck with your goals.

    1. Hi Angela, I'll write a little about how I think I can use StumbleUpon in my closing post. Hopefully it works!

    1. I don't know why I didn't go to bloglovin a long time ago! It's fantastic.

  4. I have thought about a switch at some point myself. I will be watching you with baited breath.

Interesting that you are working on a schedule for posting reviews Rachel. I use a "system" to control my postings. I am glad to know that someone else puts thought into this.

    1. Well, I'm planning on really thinking it out before I make the jump. I want my new blog to have a good look / feel. More individualized. So I'm going to have to work on my html programming skills.

  6. Good luck with your goals! I'm trying to remember to Stumble posts on a more consistent basis, but I have found a few new blogs using it. I love how random it is!

  7. It was a plug, but I'm so glad you did it because I'm interested! I'll be really excited to hear more about that :) Good luck this weekend and when you make the move to WordPress. I love it!

    1. Yeah, it WAS a plug. :) But it wasn't an out of place plug, which makes it ok, right? ;)

  8. I switched from Blogger to WordPress, then to WordPress.org a while ago. No regrets! I still have to use Blogger at work and I hate it. ;) I'll look for you on Bloglovin'. I have my blog there too, but I use Feedly as a reader more than I use Bloglovin'. I never use StumbleUpon, so would be interested in what you did for that item on your list!
